Responding to sexual assault – (1 day) workshop
Up to 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men will experience sexual assault at some time in their lives. Given these statistics it is likely that anyone working in health or human services will at some time work with people affected by sexual assault.
This workshop will assist those working with victim/survivors of sexual assault who have not had the opportunity to access training previously. It is also suitable for students. This interactive workshop encourages participants to examine the nature and consequences of sexual assault, including common community attitudes and beliefs, and to develop an understanding of the key issues relevant to providing effective support, including initiating conversations with clients about sexual assault and responding to disclosure. Participants will be provided with information relating to appropriate referral options and the supports available for those working with victim/survivors of sexual assault.
Workshop number limited to 20 and attendance is through prior booking only
Confirmation will be sent on receipt of registration form AND payment. Additional details re venue, etc will be sent prior to the workshop.
