ShantiWorkShops - #metoo: overting the politics and exploring the impact of the #metoo movement on our work, our selves, and our relationships

This workshop will make visible the political and social history of the #metoo movement and explore the structures of oppression that permission the systematic abuses and violations of girls and women.

We will reflect on questions such as:

  • What does #metoo mean for women and victim survivors of abuses and violation?
  • What does the #metoo movement mean for boys and men, and masculinities?
  • Are there possibilities that the #metoo movement allows for in re-discovering ways of negotiating relationships, intimacy, sex and consent?
  • What are the implications of the #metoo movement in our work with women who have experience domestic and family violence?
  • How can the #metoo movement offer possibilities of engaging with women and victim survivors that promotes collective agency and solidarity?
